About Me

Hi Friends and Welcome to the Gluten Free Wife!!

I first created this blog to keep in touch with family, but it has since turned into something more.  I live a completely gluten free lifestyle, well, except for making my hubby's peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on wheat bread... but I, myself, try my best to avoid glutinous products.

Around the last year of college I had stomach aches that I could not get rid of.  And pain.  And I looked like I was 6 months pregnant after eating.  With the help of my naturopathic doctor back in CT, I did an elimination diet and gluten seemed to be a big culprit.

Going gluten free can seem daunting and a lot of people think the different food/ flour combos sound gross.  But through this blog I strive to educate people that g-free recipes are delicious.  When I entertain, I don't tell people my food is g-free and you know what?  A lot of people can't even tell the difference!

I've also started an out-of-home business (The Gluten Free Wife Specialty Cakes) that caters to those who have gluten intolerance.   Baking g-free can be quite tricky so I have taken on that task to provide scrumptious g-free baked goods to others.  Being g-free doesn't mean you have to miss out on the good stuff!  Bring on the cakes, pops, and cupcakes!

So now about me and my little family....

I love to craft.  Love love love it so much that I am in the process of converting our spare bedroom into a craft room.  The goal is that we will now be able to eat at the kitchen table...

Currently my handsome hubby, Beau, is a Coast Guard Helicopter Pilot so we are stationed in the San Francisco, CA area.  He's the love of my life and I am so thankful we crossed paths in college.  He's hands down my best friend.

I'm also the Ombudsman for the Air Station.  I am so thankful that I get to be so involved and reach out to the CG spouses.

And we have two sweet little pups, Bama and Khloe.  They make me oh so happy!  We also have an insane kitty appropriately named Stewie.  (Any Family Guy fans out there?)
